Saturday

I haven't taken any pictures lately. I've just been tired. The winter blues have me blaaaaaah feeling.

A nasty wind storm melted all the snow, but it's still cold out there. Today we actually had sun! We had to drive out of town to a laundromat and I didn't even need my coat while I sat in the car. Oh yes we have to visit the laundromat because pipes busted all over the place in the house during the big freeze. The house has no heat so it's going to be awhile before hubbs can attempt to fix it. I think two of the cabins had a busted water pipe as well, but he was able to get the occupied cabin fixed ASAP.

In ferret news.... Yesterday my Tonka bear turned 2 years old and George turned 1 year old! They are the youngest, but also the biggest. All six ferrets and one cat ate nearly an entire bag of Stella & Chewy's freeze dried rabbit "treats". At $10-$15 for the small bag, I can't afford to feed it daily! They wish!

Something new I recently learned about ferrets is that their fur color changes are not caused by season, but by photosynthesis. I guess technically that is also considered seasonal, but a lot of ferrets born in the "off season" change their coats opposite those born in normal breeding seasons. Marshals is not a responsible breeder, but they supply the US with nearly all the pet ferrets, so you get what you get. I did find a handful of responsible ferret breeders, most of them are on the east half of the country so maybe someday I can get one from a breeder instead.

Yes I talk too much about ferrets. They are my babies. My spirit animal. :-p I actually have a t-shirt that says "My patronus is a ferret".

But I don't plan to turn into a ferret blog. I will share about them just like people share their dogs and cats. :-p

It's Monday

I got this great wood heart and this sweet envelope with hearts made from old quilts from Thymeless Treasures on Facebook Aren't they neat! I just love them both. (Yes, my walls in the cabin, in the living area are purple.)

I have an Instagram account just for our ferrets. It's called Corner Painters. Because that is what they do... they potty in corners. lol. This is Stella and Kira (in the bed). We have 6 ferrets, 4 boys and 2 girls. They have their own room, mostly used for sleeping. I've been getting them some new things for their room, but first I want to deep clean it.

Today we're going to pick up our first Azure Standard order. I changed my mind so many times before the order window closed, I don't even remember what I actually bought, besides flour. I ordered eggs, but they ran out so we won't be getting those.Thankfully our chickens are laying a little now.

Have a great Monday!

Saturday

I see blogger is still littered with glitches. I keep trying to update my profile but it will not stick. It also doesn't show everyone I follow. I know most people aren't active anymore, but there's still quite a few who are!

I found 'Friends' conversation hearts at wal-mart today. I used to love that show way back when. I like that there are no minty white hearts in the bag, thank you Brachs for skipping those. ;) Actually the colors seem to have stronger flavors, it's interesting. I'll be sharing these with our kids. Our kids are young adults now, but I still call them kids. ;)

I got a couple of Valentine decorations from a new prim selling group on facebook! Hopefully I will get pics and share more about that. It was started by Ravenwood Whimzies. I don't know if Wendy still blogs, but I like her facebook page and etsy shop.

I really just posted to complain about blogger. LOL. Google just loves being frustrating don't they?! First my email, and now blogger, except blogger had issues when I left last time.

Starting over again

Google is a pill. I can't login to my other email to use my blog so we'll just start another one. I had some photos saved on Google Photos and now I don't have access to them. :( Thankfully it wasn't a lot.

Let's see, my last post was in September, autumn.

Christmas was nice. We got a small real tree and put it up on a table to keep the ferrets from climbing it. The cats thankfully don't bother it, but one liked to sleep under it.

I've had health stuff since last December (2021) Nothing c0v1d related. Right now I have a concussion and can't wait for that to heal. I get dizzy a lot. My Dr gave me a Rx for it, but it does not help at all so I didn't bother refilling that one.

I haven't cross stitched much lately. Been waiting out the dizzy, but sometimes it feels like it will never end. I do want to stitch again. I have a gazillion charts I want to do, and quite a few WIPs. An embarassing amount actually. LOL.

Found out the local Ben Franklin store is closing. I'm bummed! They actually carry all the DMC floss and some cross stitch stuff, lots of fabric, holiday decor, and lots of fun stuff. Sometimes there'd be something a little bit primitive to buy. The nearest place to buy DMC now is 45 minutes away and with our gas guzzler we don't go out that way often, and not worth the drive for a few skeins of floss. It's unclear if anyone is going to buy Ben Franklin to keep it going. From the sound of it, no. There's a huge outpouring of locals sad about it. But the couple who own it want to retire.

I really miss the old blogging days! I miss seeing prim homes, decor, ideas, projects, tutorials, giveaways, swaps. It was fun and nice to connect with prim lovers like myself.

Life here has taken a turn in the wrong direction so we are thinking of moving. Not north. Less cold is better for our aging selves. We'd love to find some acres and a nice house with no carpet and at least 2 bathrooms. A nice big kitchen with lots of counter space. 3 bedrooms because the grown up kids are going with us and we kinda need a whole room for the ferrets and hubby knows I long for a craft room again. We want to continue vegetable gardening, growing fruit trees and bushes. We want to keep raising chickens for eggs and meat. We'd lke to live near a good farmers market and other farms that raise pastured meat and dairy. And we need an exotic vet that is familiar with ferrets. We have a good one here in the next county over, but can't find what we want as far as properties over that way. The New River Gorge became a national park and now everyone is buying up homes for airbnb! It's crazy and annoying.

We'll just have to see what God has in store.
